With flu cases in this city up tenfold from last year, the mayor of Boston declared a public health emergency on the 9th of January.
Right behind them the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared thatinfluenza has reached epidemic proportions in the United States, with 7.3% of deaths last week caused by pneumonia and the flu.
