Big pharma is a multi-billion dollar industry bent on making money, not necessarly trying to get you well. But you already know that.
What big pharma doesn’t tell you is that many of the super high-proced medicines are actually based on ancient remedies used by indigenous peoples, folk doctors and wise mothers for centuries.
You’ll never get your doctor, for example, to “prescribe” this super popular home remedy for inflammation and joint pain: gin and raisins. Why? There’s no kickback from big pharma to get them to do that!
We first learned of this home remedy from a battle happening between my two sisters. One had called and raved about a white flake compound she takes called MSM. It’s basically sulphur. She says it got rid of her hip pain that she’d had for several months. She puts a teaspoon in orange juice 3 times a week and drinks it fast (it’s strong tasting!).
Now another sister — one focused on organic eating and living — heard about the MSM idea and looked into it a bit further because she didn’t like some of the possible side effects like headaches and upset stomach. She found an older remedy based on the same notion, this one is golden raisins and gin.
Here’s the recipe in images, courtesy of hapn app:
First, get a small glass cup, like this –
Next, grab a box of golden raisins, these do fine or get some organic ones if you want:
Next get some gin. Not just any old gin as some don’t have the “right” ingredients. The gin you want must be REAL and old-fashioned recipe which means it has JUNIPER BERRIES (which reportedly have something to do with fighting inflammation). You won’t see it in the ingredient list but Gordon’s London Gin reportedly has it and it’s not expensive anyway (stocked at most stores):
Pour enough gin in the cup to cover the raisins and let them soak for at least 24 hours. When soaked these lucious beauties will be gursting with gin goodness and ready for you to consume. My sister takes 1 tablespoon at night just before bed.
The alcohol in the gin keeps these from going stale and nice and plump for the next night. After taking a spoonful then simply cover the cup with a paper towel and rubber band like so:
While this may or may not work for you if you try it and it does then you’re now benefitting from a home remedy and natural ingredients. At the very least you’re enjoying some plump gin raisins! You can read more about this on webmd, and see about MSM on any site that sells it.
