We made a difference when we told Home Depot and Lowe’s to stop selling pesticides that hurt our pollinators, and now we need to go after a few more chains that are killing our bees and butterflies. It’s time to join the 175,000 who have already signed a petition to be delivered to True Value Hardware and Ace, requesting that they stop selling bee-killing chemicals.

We’ve already lost over 42% of our bee colonies in North America. That’s astounding when you consider that bees and other pollinators play such an important role in our food system by enabling the production of so many foods. In total, pollinators make an astounding 35% of global food production possible and contribute more than $24 billion annually to the U.S. economy.

The number of managed honeybee colonies in the United States has declined from 6 million in the 1940’s to just 2.5 million in 2014 – jeopardizing our food supply and domestic agriculture industry. Increasingly, the science points to neonics and glyphosate as huge contributors to the downfall of the bees.

Lowe’s, Home Depot, BJ’s Wholesale, and Whole Foods are already taking steps to remove these pesticides from their store shelves, and more than 20 states, communities, and organizations have already passed measures to limit or ban neonicotinoids.

It’s time to convince Ace and True Value to join them. You can sign the CREDO petition, here.
