About 40 years ago the U.S.A. began to drop its guard and became lax about protecting the borders of our country. When a nation can no longer or chooses to no longer defend its own borders…then it begins to lose its sovereignty and eventually safety and security erodes to the point where it is a dangerous place to work and live. And we have real threats to our nation’s sovereignty right at our very door-step.
There are many towns and cities along the border that have become virtual war-zones. Consider the border states of Arizona and Texas.
The Laredo Texas region is considered to be just one of the ports of entry for illegal drugs. Those drugs and narcotics make their way well into the heartland of the United States far beyond the border lands. Laredo drug enforcement is kept busy around the clock by the drug smuggling problem that has been escalated by the Mexican drug cartels.
El Paso Texas sits directly across the Rio Grande from one of the most violent cities in the world Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. In fact it has been referred to as the most violent area on the planet outside of declared war zones. This violence cannot be contained within a city that is growing rapidly in population and is easily accessible to the United States.
The town of Nogales, Arizona is right across the border from Nogales, Mexico. The border area surrounding these two cities is immense and hostile but it serves as an entry-way for thousands of illegal aliens and is a focal point of entry for human smugglers also known as coyote’s.
As a nation we cannot afford to allow our borders to remain so open. This open border policy that has been accepted by both democrat and republican politicians and administrations is not acceptable and is against the very ideals of a safe and secure Republic.
There is a sick irony to all of this when one considers the gauntlet that innocent American citizens are put through every day, just to fly on a plane; when at the same time one of the main threats to our safety and security goes unchecked and under-reported . The borders for all intents and purposes are wide-open and our border patrol agents are stretched to the limit and the border patrol and protection remains underfunded.
What might be more frightening than all of this; is the fact that it’s believed that violent Middle Eastern terror organizations of Hezbollah and Hamas are crossing the southern borders into the United States at a time when Iran is threatening the people of the United States.
America has been strong in the past because it was a nation founded on the principles of law, a nation of justice and a nation that believed in defending its borders.
America we either wake up now protect our borders and guard our sovereignty, or our freedoms and liberties will soon be gone forever.
