Madhuri Gupta who was an Indian diplomat suspended and arrested for giving our country’s sensitive information to the ISI (Pakistan’s intelligence agency) had today got her bail from Delhi court.
While elaborating Ms. Madhuri on bail, Additional Sessions Judge Mr. Pawan Kumar Jain, however, restricted her from leaving the National Capital without prior permission of the court.The court also warned Ms. Gupta against trying to get in contact with any prosecution witness in her case.
Mr. Pawan Kumar Jain, who had on January 7th of this year, charged her with offences implying 3 years jail term on sentence, released her on a surety of Rs. 25,000 and bail on a personal bond of the same amount.
The Delhi court had granted the bail on her plea that Ms. Madhuri has already spent more than 21 months in the jail while the offences she had been charged with carries a maximum jail term of 3 years on being held guilty, 55 year old Ms. Gupta was arrested on 22nd April, 2010 by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
