The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released its election manifesto for UP (Uttar Pradesh) assembly election in Lukhnow, which is focusing on health, education, employment and law & order. Top party leaders, including state BJP president Surya Pratap Shahi, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Narendra Singh Tomar, Uma Bharti, Sudheedra Kulkarni and Kalraj Mishra were present at the release.
The manifesto promises a cow for every poor family in UP, five lakh jobs, Rs 18,000 allowance for unemployed youth, and cheap tablets and laptops for high school students. Party also promises to withdraw 4.5 percent reservation for minorities and 27 percent reservation for OBCs. Shahi told religion based quota policy is dangerous and it would be scrapped if the BJP came to power.
The manifesto of BJP is a commitment to overcome all obstacles and construct a grand temple (Ram Mandir) in Ayodhya. On the question of the Ayodhya temple, Shahi told that the BJP had an opinion that Hinduism was the life substance of the India but due to vote bank politics it was being attacked by parties.
The state is going to polls on 8 Feb, 11 Feb, Feb 15, Feb 19, Feb 23, Feb 28 and 3 March. The counting of votes is on 6th March 2012.
