Kottayam (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The Vice President of India, Mr. Mohd. Hamid Ansari has said that cinema is a complex and powerful art form. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the KR Narayanan National Institute of Visual Sciences & Arts at Kottayam in Kerala on January 11, he said that cinema is a form of popular entertainment but it is also a mass-communication medium. Films provide catharsis and perspective and can open our eyes to new ways of thinking, feeling and pursuing our lives, he added.
