(Before It's News)

Hundreds of blind Greeks gathered outside the Finance Ministry on Tuesday morning and will be standing there until they get an appointment with Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras. They asked an appointment with him, even though the minister is absent. They refused to meet the director of Stournaras’ office saying “We met him last week, we have nothing to talk with him.”

Blinds condemn the dramatic decrease of their income either in form of pensions and benefits and say they are particularly hit by unemployment.

“Unemployment, poverty and social isolation threatens the majority of the families with disabled,” said the Blinds’ Association in a statement.

Protesters speak of “social euthanasia for those with disabilities and their families.”
