Why Is the Chinese Regime So Afraid of Dancers?

(Before It's News)

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) might seem pretty big and tough.  After all, it controls the world’s most populous country with a strict dictatorship, and no one dares to disobey it.  Right?

Well, then why is it so afraid of classical Chinese dancers?

Shen Yun Performing Arts, the dance company in question, has toured the world for eight years, stunning audiences with its breathtaking display of classical Chinese dance and music.  Based in New York, it has the mission of reviving 5,000 years of ancient culture and history.

That’s one reason the Chinese regime doesn’t like it.  The CCP tried long ago to wipe out Chinese traditions and values to make way for communism, so it isn’t about to let Shen Yun perform in China and bring it all back.

But why does the CCP also try to stop Shen Yun from performing in other countries?  Recently, for example, the Chinese consulate in Spain tried to force a Barcelona theater to cancel Shen Yun’s performance there, the Epoch Times reported.

“Communist Party representatives often hound Shen Yun where its performances are scheduled around the world, varying their tactics depending on the country,” the Epoch Times explained. “In some cases, consular officials made repeated threatening phone calls to theaters in an attempt to have them cancel the performances.”

Each Shen Yun performance consists of world-class dancers performing intricate and beautiful choreography with colorful handmade costumes, accompanied by a live orchestra that includes Chinese and Western instruments.

Sounds terrifying, right?  No wonder CCP officials are so worried about it.

Actually, the thing that has them quaking in their boots is the fact that some of the dances tell stories.  These include ancient Chinese legends, stories from history, and a few modern-day stories about the Chinese communist regime’s cruel persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual practice.  These dances depict the bravery of Falun Gong adherents in the face of violence and oppression.

Audiences all over the world have watched the widely-acclaimed Shen Yun and learned about the persecution.  This is why the CCP has been doing everything in its power to stop the dancers from performing.

The leader of the CCP, Xi Jinping, recently visited Brussels, Belgium.  In preparation for his visit, the Chinese Consulate there asked for the removal of posters advertising Shen Yun, the Epoch Times reported.

The Brussels police department asked the advertising agency to remove the posters, but later the police department changed its mind.

“Why might a picture of an elegant Chinese dancer make President Xi unhappy?”the Epoch Times quoted the La Libre Belgique newspaper as saying.

Now we know.  Those elegant dancers have been telling the truth, and if there’s one thing that scares CCP officials more than anything else, it’s the truth.
