Third Annual
National Iranian American Day of Service

Saturday, March 9, 2013

This year, the National Iranian American
Council (NIAC) is proud to announce the Third
 Annual National Iranian
American Day of Service taking place on Saturday, March 9
. Despite
high tensions between Iran and the United States, Iranian
Americans are choosing to build a bridge by embracing the traditions of their
old home while contributing to the betterment of their new home. They will
share the ‘New Year’ bliss with their American compatriots through nationwide
festivities and volunteer activities.

The Iranian New Year, Norooz, marks the first day of spring and
is celebrated by Iranians inside Iran and in diaspora communities around the world. It is a time to
celebrate family, friends and the rebirth of nature. In the hopes of keeping
this joyous tradition alive, Iranian Americans from across the nation are
coming together to give back to those
communities in which they live and work, while also sharing a piece of their
rich culture and philanthropic spirit.

Below is the list of cities (in alphabetical order by state) and
venues where Iranian-Americans will come together to give back to their
communities:

California: Lost Angeles (Beverly Hills) , Los Angeles (Bellevue Ave), Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco

Washington DC Metropolitan Area: DC, MD, VA

Georgia: Atlanta

Illinois: Chicago

Minnesota: Minneapolis

New York: NYC

Texas: Dallas, Houston

Washington: Seattle

If you live in or near one of cities and would like to be included, please let us know by clicking on your city above to sign up to volunteer. If you would like to coordinate your own team in another city, we welcome your leadership and desire to help! Please contact us via email ([email protected]) or telephone (202-386-6325) as soon as possible so we can begin planning your city’s activity.

With the New Year comes a new opportunity to help our communities and show our unity. Don’t wait … sign up to make your community a stronger one!
