Extend the Iran Sanctions
Barack Obama wants to release $150 billion in funds that were seized from Iran as a result of the rogue nation’s history of hostage-taking and building nuclear weapons in violation of previous agreements.
Iran’s government proved by taking U.S. sailors hostage last week that they cannot be trusted (as if we needed more evidence) and they have no intention of abiding by any agreement Obama makes with them.
Lifting these sanctions sends a license to every tyrant in the world that it is acceptable to capture and ransom Americans, because there is no reason to fear repercussions from Obama! This is why we must demand that Congress pass an extension of the Iran Sanctions Act!

Pray For US believes this legislation can be veto-proofed (S. 1682) because the House of Representatives just voted in 2013 to strengthen sanctions against Iran – by a vote of 400 to 20!
The current bill being discussed, which you can read HERE, was drafted by Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). It has bipartisan support.
The bill extends the Iran Sanctions Act until 2026 and holds onto the funds that were rightfully seized from Iran decades ago in response to that nation’s acts of aggression.
Back in 1979, Iranian jihadis seized the American embassy in Tehran and held 55 Americans hostage for 444 days. The hostages were finally released when Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President, because the Iranian government feared Reagan, who was no paper tiger like Jimmy Carter or Obama.
We can pressure enough Senators and Representatives to veto-proof this legislation if enough of us speak out!
The funds that were seized from Iran constitute restitution for the expense that America went to, in order to recover our hostages from them in 1980, and for other crimes that Iran has committed.
Ezekiel 33:14-15 explains restitution this way: “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.”
Without restitution there is no justice, which is an abomination to God.
Obama has clearly forgotten or does not care that dozens of Americans had 444 days of their lives stolen by the Iranians, or that Iran has continued its aggressive acts of provocation for decades since then.
Releasing the sanctioned funds sends a message that capturing Americans is perfectly acceptable for rogue governments – and no American who travels overseas will be safe!
