(Before It's News)

Reporting on Feb/March’s 31st Human Rights Council session, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) on Tuesday called for ‘urgent international action to prevent the slaughter of innocent people of iraq by forces affiliated with religious fascism ruling Iran, but also ‘call[ed] for formation of an international committee to investigate crimes of [the] Iranian regime in Camp Ashraf.’

Camp Ashraf is a ‘base formerly belong[ing] to the main opposition group the peaceful People’s Mojahedin Organization (PMOI / MEK)’ and risks further being over-run by mercenaries.

And last week a program broadcast on Al-Jazeera TV highlighted that since the camp was occupied by Badr militias in February 2015 that ‘close to 150 people have been executed by the Iranian-backed paramilitary force.’

The clerical regime is exploiting the tensions and regional rivalry between Sunnis and Shias, and the program highlighted the massacre of innocent people ‘especially Sunnis being systematic targets;’ and also that ‘some abductees were transferred to secret prisons [at the] Ashraf Base.’

Taking extracts from the 31st Human Rights Council session, the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI’s) Foreign Affairs Committee illustrated a need for ‘investigation into seven massacres conducted in Camp Ashraf and Liberty that left 141 martyrs, and including a medical siege that has so far caused the death of 27 residents.’

Under the Fourth Geneva Convention the People’s Mojahedin Organization who originally took up exile and asylum at Camp Ashraf against the regime were warranted “protected persons” status.

UN, US, EU and UK officials has deplored and been outspoken condemning the mullahs’ regime of violence that has resulted in the death of many Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty residents, and now the NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee brought to attention comments of ‘five credible international organizations with UN consultative status.’

The consultative group commented: “there is absolutely no evidence of any investigation by the Government of Iraq into deadly attacks on Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty since 2009.” Residents were massacred in Ashraf, September 2013; and slaughtered in Camp Liberty, October 2015.

A practical measure called for is ‘for the formation of an impartial international group to investigate the atrocities of the terrorist Qods Force and its mercenaries in Camp Ashraf against Iraqi people.’

The Qods Force is a special forces unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) which reports directly to the regime’s Supreme Leader Khamenei.
