Iran: Maryam Akbari follows up on her complaint demanding justice.
Evin political prisoner Maryam Akbari Monfared followed up on her complaint filed on October 15, 2016, by sending another letter to the Judiciary officials.
Ms. Akbari demanded in her letter, released on November 21, 2016, that the officials designate which court and which branch are responsible for examining the case.
Maryam Akbari’s letter reads in part, “Given the fact that international tribunals accept complaints only after they are filed in local courts, I once again reiterate that I, Maryam Akbari Monfared, demand investigations carried out on the extrajudicial executions of my sister and brother and clarification of details, including the names of those responsible for their executions, handing over the documents in their file including their indictments, and penal examination of the case.”Meanwhile, two political prisoners from Gohardasht Prison, Abolghassem Fouladvand and Saeid Massouri, declared their support for Maryam Akbari’s demand for justice.In part of his open letter they wrote to her “You (Maryam) have proven that there are people who do not buckle under pressure. There are people who do not fear the execution of their loved ones, because they know well that oppressors invest in such fears.”Maryam Akbari has been deprived of her weekly family visits and access to medical treatment for filing complaint against the execution of her siblings.
