Women top the list of those deprived of education in the southwestern province of Khuzistan in Iran.
Khuzistan’s Provincial Governor, Gholamreza Shariati, told a gathering on February 6, 2017, “We still have children in Khuzistan who are deprived of education. The largest number of those deprived of education belongs to women.”
Earlier, in September 2016, head of the Department of Education in the 4th District of Ahwaz, government announced, “In some parts of Ahwaz, One of every four girls is only one girl managed to achieve diplomas.At the same time, Leili Nazarpour, expert in charge of women’s affairs in the Department of Education, said, “The number of girls deprived of education doubles the number of deprived boys.
