(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. September 2, 2015, 11:04 AM (IDT)

Internal concerns have been raised in the Pentagon that the US General Command overseeing the war on ISIS was overstating progress – describing the US-led bombing campaign as being on the right track and ISIS as having lost thousands of fighters and control of some territory in Iraq and Syria. US spy agencies, however, regard it as a stalemate. A recent DIA assessment concluded that the Islamic State had not been substantially degraded by a year-long campaign of US air strikes and ground operations by the Iraqi military. The probe was ordered to check the wide discrepancy

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
