(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. February 3, 2016, 8:34 AM (IDT)

Not long after takeoff. a pilot Tuesday safely landed a Daallo Airlines plane that originated in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at Mogadishu Airport, after an explosion blew a hole in one side of the Airbus A321-111. One passenger who fell from the plane was killed and two others injured.
The explosion which occurred 12,000-14,000 feet high occurred over East Africa shortly after takeoff from the Somali airport. Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke did not confirm it was caused by an explosion and promised an investigation. But one source said that initial tests came back positive for explosive residue. There was no claim of responsibility.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
