(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. March 30, 2016, 9:02 AM (IDT)

Following the FBI's announcement that it suceeded in breaking the encryption of the iPhone used by the terrorists who carried out the October 2015 attack in San Bernardino, California, lawyers for iPhone producer Apple are planning a lawsuit demanding that the FBI reveal the means and method used. The legal struggle over breaking the iPhone's encrytion has dealt a blow to both sides, with tech giants expected to scale down their cooperation with the FBI, and Apple now needing to explain how the private information on hundreds of millions of iPhones is now vulnerable. Non-official sources said the encryption was broken with the help of Israeli tech firm Cellebrite.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
