(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. July 21, 2016, 5:46 PM (IDT)

Iran's IRNA news agency reported Thursday that 40 people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in digging an underground “terror tunnel” in southeast Iran on the border with Pakistan. Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said the tunnel discovered several days ago was intended for attacks and terror. Tension has been rising recently in the border area in Sistan-Baluchistan province, with four Iranian border guards killed in a June attack by a Sunni terrorist organization linked to Al Qaeda.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
