German police shot Tuseday dead a 17-year-old Afghani refugee after he stabbed train passengers with an axe. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann has confirmed the teenager, who critically wounded three people, was an Afghan refugee.
“It is quite probable that this was an Islamist attack,” said a ministry spokesman.
The axe attacker had shouted “Allaha akbar” as he carried out the brutal assault.
Three of the victims suffered “serious injuries” and one other has non life-threatening injuries, while at least another 14 passengers are being treated for minor injuries and shock.
