DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. July 14, 2016, 2:53 PM (IDT)
Two Arab citizens of Israel were arrested recently by the country's security forces on suspicion of a series of security-related offenses including contact with a foreign agent, support of a terrorist organization and arms trading. The two, a 24-year old from Nazareth and a 35-year-old from Shfaram, are said to have viewed Islamic State propaganda on the Internet, been in contact with ISIS activists in Syria and Turkey, and planned join the terrorist organization's forces. The arrests were disclosed on Thursday when the suspects were brought before a Haifa district court judge who extended the arrests until the legal procedures against the two men are completed.
Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
