(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. November 21, 2016, 2:16 PM (IDT)

High Court President Miriam Naor led a ruling Monday to hold up the appointment of Rabbi Eyal Karim as IDF Chief Chaplain until he fully explains the views he expressed in the past against homosexuality and women’s rights. She summoned the rabbi to tell the court where he stands on those issues today. Jewish Home Minister Uri Ariel called the temporary injunction “scandalous” and urged Rabbi Karim to defy the order which amounted to a gag on his freedom of expression.

The forum of IDF reserve chaplains sharply condemned the high court justices as collaborators with the parties seeking to weaken the military rabbinate and the IDF at large.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
