(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. November 15, 2016, 5:00 PM (IDT)

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman cut the ribbon Tuesday to inaugurate the Israel Defense Forces’ new Training Center in the Negev. Netanyahu stressed his ongoing contacts with Moscow and the four face-to-face meetings held in the past year with President Vladimir Putin, that aimed to avoid any possible clashes which neither Israel nor the Russian army wanted. As he spoke, Russia launched a large-scale military attack on Islamist positions in northern Syria.

Lieberman referred to the controversy over the Amona outpost which the High Court has ordered removed by the end of December and expressed the hope that the IDF would not be dragged into politics or be forced into clashes with its community. The IDF executes, but the government decides, he stressed. He also said he hoped that Israel could get together with the Trump administration as soon as possible.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
