(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. December 14, 2016, 6:46 PM (IDT)

Facebook on Wednesday announced a joint initiative with Twitter, Microsoft and YouTube to prevent the spread of terror-related content on the internet, especially social networks. The four companies said that they will set up a joint database containing digital “fingerprints”, especially text, images and videos for instruction, recruitment, training or incitement of terror, among others. They are planning to establish a similar project targeting child pornography in the future. Facebook claimed in the announcement that it will protect user privacy while setting up the project, and that intelligence and national security services will provide intelligence for the database so it can function more effectively.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
