(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. January 30, 2017, 9:16 PM (IDT)

Iran conducted its first ballistic missile test under Donald Trump’s presidency, although it apparently failed on reentry. The Khorramshahr medium-range ballistic missile flew 600 miles from the test site outside Semnan before exploding in a failed test of a reentry vehicle, officials said. Iran defense minister Brigadier Gen. Hossein Dehqan said in September that Iran would start production of the missile.

UN resolution 2231 called on the Islamic Republic not to conduct such tests for eight years. However, this is at least Iran's second since then the resolution was put in place in July 2015, days after the Iran nuclear deal was signed.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
