Jordan's Abdullah: two-state solution is basis for Mideast peace

Jordanian King Abdullah said Wednesday morning at the opening session of the 28th summit of Arab leaders that the basis for peace in the Middle East is a two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He asserted that peace will not be achieved in the region without the establishment of a Palestinian state, claiming that Israeli building in Judea and Samaria is destroying the chance for peace. DEBKAfile reported earlier in the day that the Jordanian authorities did not disclose the exact location of the gathering due to concern over the possibility of a terrorist attack. The summit is being attended by leaders of 16 countries as well as senior officials including Jason Greenblatt, US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East.
