DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. March 13, 2017, 4:59 PM (IDT)
UK Prime Minister Theresa May accused the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s plan for a second independence referendum evidence of “tunnel division.” She called it “divisive” and said it would cause “huge economic uncertainty at the worst possible time.” The first referendum in which “people in Scotland voted decisively to remain part of our United Kingdom” took place less than two years ago, she noted.
London sources say that Sturgeon acted in response to the British Prime Minister’s refusal to demand special treatment for Scotland in Brexit negotiations.
Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
