In a large-scale attack on the Syrian capital Sunday, rebel forces attacked and damaged the Russian embassy building, the ambassador reported. He said the building was empty at the time. The rebels came close to the Old City of Damascus before they came under heavy Syrian and Russian aerial bombardment.
