DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. April 6, 2017, 8:44 AM (IDT)
Egypt's Defense Ministry said that the country's air force on Wednesday received three more Rafale warplanes as part of the $5.6 billion arms deal signed with France in 2015. Cairo has now taken delivery of a Mistral-class warship, two FREMM frigates and nine out of the 24 fighters included in the deal. As part of a separate agreement, the Egyptian navy took delivery of a German submarine in 2016 and will receive another one this summer.
Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
