(Before It's News)

DEBKAfile was founded by a team of journalists in June 2000 as an independent Internet Web site, providing an intelligence and security news service. April 9, 2017, 5:46 PM (IDT)

The Islamic State claimed explosions at two Egyptian Coptic churches packed with worshippers celebrating Palm Sunday. At St, George’s Church in Tanta, 50km north of Cairo, the blast killed some 25 people and injured 50. Two hours later, another bomb exploded in front of the Coptic cathedral in Alexandria killing up to 18 Christians and injuring 30. The Coptic Patriarch Theodorus who led the prayers, left the church minutes before the explosion.

Our unique angle on these subjects – and strong intelligence dimension – has earned DEBKAfile a global reputation and a steady readership – which skyrockets in times of crisis.
