Pentagon sources report that Washington gave Moscow advance warning of the coming US cruise missile attack Thursday night on the Syrian Shayrat airfield, where Russian air force units are also based. The attack was in retaliation for the Syrian sarin nerve gas attack that killed up to 100 civilians in the Idlib town of Khan Sheikhoun Monday.
