(Before It's News)

On 7/8/2013, Tepco conducted the soundness inspection of reactor2 TIP guide pipe.

This is their second attempt. They failed in the first attempt (2/25 ~ 2/28/2013) to have 4 fiberscopes stuck in the pipe.

(cf, Tepco failed in installing thermometers into reactor2, “4 fiberscopes all stuck in the pipe” [URL])

This time, Tepco inserted 9.6m of dummy TIP cable into PCV but didn’t reach pedestal.

After pulling off the cable, they found an unverified sediment on the top of the cable.

From Tepco’s photo, the color is gray gold. γ dose was 5 mSv/h, γ & β dose was 0.2 Sv/h.
