On 5/28/2013, the former mayor of Futaba town, Idogawa attended at a conference in the United Nations Office at Geneva in Switzerland.
It was a side event of the UNHRC on rights to health in Fukushima with Special Rapporteur of Human Rights Council UN, Anand Grover, which was held by specified nonprofit corporation Human Rights Now.

In this conference, former mayor Idogawa made this statement.
They have never heard my opinions. To the contrary, the government is trying to underestimate the impact of the accident. I know one of the residents in Futaba underwent an operation for thyroid cancer and this person has not informed the prefecture of it as she is afraid of information cover-up by them.
