On 8/14/2014, NHK broadcast a strange TV program that Japanese society will become “the world of many deaths”. They comment it will be due to the rapidly progressing aging society, but the example case picked up in the show was a death from cancer of 41 years old woman.
In the show, NHK reported the annual death case is assumed to be 1.3 times much as now in 16 years.
They also reported more and more people donate their dead bodies to medical university for “autopsy practice”. They also suggested we can save funeral cost by donating bodies to university because the university would take care of the whole process from cremation to funeral.
Back in 2013, NHK also announced thyroid problem is a people’s disease in Japan. The spike of thyroid cancer among Fukushima children was reported a few months after the TV show.
