On March 21, YAL members at University of South Carolina took part in the Free Speech Awareness event hosted by Turning Point USA. Students were encouraged to express their 1st Amendment rights by writing on a large inflatable beach ball with markers. They were also encouraged to participate in future activism by joining YAL and subscribing to our mailing list.
Events that promote our fundamental right to expression foster an environment in which individuality is respected, censorship is avoided, and new ideas can flourish. This is needed now more than ever on campuses throughout the country, and so our chapter is committed to changing attitudes towards free speech on our campus and abroad.
