US Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and others accompanied Chen during the press conference. Chen said the Chinese regime has broken its promise to investigate the abuse he endured. He also condemned the detention of his nephew, Chen Kegui. Chen Kegui has been charged with attempted murder, but has not been given access to the lawyers his family hired.
