Talks were held between Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Beijing on Wednesday. This is Mursi's first trip to China since taking power. The Egyptian President met with Chinese vice President and leader-in-waiting Xi Jinping earlier in the day. Chinese leaders had generally comfortable relations with former president Hosni Mubarak's government. But ties with Mursi and his Muslim Brotherhood-associated government have been less clear. After his China stop, Mursi will go to Iran to attend a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on Thursday (August 30).
