Gu Kailai's verdict on Monday drew a line, for now at least, at the end of her case. But for the man whose flight to the US Consulate ultimately set the wheels in motion against Gu, the case remains unclear. Former police chief, Wang Lijun has not been heard from since February, but his absence hasn't stopped allegations from being brought against him. Those allegations include claims that Wang oversaw a research program that involved the taking of organs from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong is a spiritual meditation discipline that is brutally persecuted in China. This was back when Wang was the police chief of Jinzhou city, Liaoning Province. Wang's research involved developing drugs to facilitate the removal and transplant of organs. Earlier this month, the Worldwide Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong released a phone conversation between an investigator and a doctor who had cooperated with Wang's research program. The doctor, Chen Rongshan, was the director of Urology of the 205 People's Liberation Army Hospital in Jinzhou.
