(Before It's News)

Chinese authorities say they have detained two men responsible for snatching the flag off a Japanese diplomatic car last month. The incident occurred on August 27th, as anti-Japanese protests flared in Beijing over the disputed Diaoyu Islands, also known as Senkaku in Japan. On that day, the car of the Japanese ambassador was targeted by two vehicles, and one man ripped the Japanese flag off the car. State-run media reported on Tuesday that two men, aged 23 and 25 have been held over the flag ripping. Japanese authorities had strongly protested against the incident—which they say endangered the safety of their staff in Beijing.
