An Israeli hospital delivers a multicultural boom of twin births, with four sets born – to Jewish, Arab Christian, Muslim and Druze mothers – in a 24-hour period. Full story: It was a “multicultural baby boom” for an Israeli hospital this week. Jewish, Arab Christian, Muslim and Druze mothers gave birth to four sets of twins in one day. Bassel Barhoum, manager of the Western Galilee hospital in Nahariya, northern Israel, celebrated the rare occasion. [Bassel Barhoum, Manager, Western Galilee Hospital]: “I think that yesterday was a very symbolic day, a very happy day, that all the population, four women, Christian, Muslim, Druze and Jewish, gave birth to twins, one of them only a few minutes after the other, it is very happy and it certainly expresses the common life, the sharing among ourselves.” The Jewish woman and Arab Christian gave birth to a girl and boy, while the Muslim and Druze had twin girls. Four of the babies were delivered by Cesarean section. The hospital's nine delivery rooms see an average of 51 hundred births every year. The diversely-populated areas has 600 thousand residents. During 2012, 125 sets of twins were delivered in the hospital. For more news and videos visit ☛ ntdtv.tv Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me
