On Tuesday, US Customs and Border Protection officials announced a recent seizure of drugs from the Arizona-Mexico border. Seven tons of marijuana were taken on January 15 at the Mariposa-Nogales port of entry, which officials say is the largest such seizure in the Nogales, Arizona sector ever. Discovered inside a tractor-trailer attempting to cross the border; 600 packages of plastic-wrapped marijuana. Each one weighed between 25 and 30 pounds. Officials estimate the value of the drugs to be worth $7 million. A 26-year-old Mexican male was taken into custody.
