Debris of F-16 missing in Italy believed found, search focuses on spot. Full Story: The search is on in Italy as the Italian Coast Guard looks for a missing F16 and its pilot. They are focusing on an area where a fishing boat found debris believed to belong to the jet. [Francesco Saverio Ferrara, Coast Guard Rear Admiral] “The search is still going on. Several boats from the coast guard are involved and they are supported by the police, the tax police and the state police. There is also an Italian helicopter in the area and a US Air Force C-130 is on its way. We have coast guard divers in near where a fishing boat found debris which could belong to the plane. We hope to find out more during the day so we can have a more complete picture of what happened.” The missing jet took off from Aviano Air Base on a training exercise Monday evening.
