Crystal Quartz, my favorite stone
Crystal Quartz is a clear stone that is not only beautiful, but has very amazing powers. This stone has always been my favorite because it has of the fact that it has such a beauty that no other stone can seem to produce. That is my opinion at least. So what is so special about Crystal Quartz?
Crystal Quartz is a magnifier of power. It is mostly used for healing and aligning the consciousness, but it also is used to amplify the intentions of the user. This can be used for any intention you may have when you use Crystal Quartz in a spell or ritual. For example, if you are working with prosperity magick, and you do not have Tiger’s Eye then Crystal Quartz is a perfect substitute for that stone. Typically, this stone is a good all-purpose stone. This is my view point though.
Relating to the body, Crystal Quartz has several advantages. According to Wicca.com, these advantages are:
- Enhances the crystalline properties of blood, body, and mind
- Activates and enhances pineal and pituitary glands
- It’s an emotional balancer
- It stimulates brain function
- It amplifies thought form
- It activates all levels of consciousness
- It dispels negative energy in one’s energy field and the environment
- It receives, activates, stores, transmits, and amplifies energy
- It’s excellent for meditation
- It enhances interdimensional communication
Before working with Crystal Quartz, or any stone for that matter, make sure you cleanse it. This can be done in several ways. If you are a Witch, then you will know that stones are considered tools and that it should be cleansed like a tool. However, if you aren’t then here are some steps in cleansing the Crystal Quartz:
- Use a bowl and pour water (preferably purified water or distilled), if not basic water is fine, into it. If it is one stone, use a small bowl. You do not want to mix stones because they have different energies. If you have several Crystal Quartz stones to cleanse then it is fine to put them in the same bowl.
- Add some salt to the water (this can be sea salt or basic table salt).
- Make sure to stir the water so that the salt does not settle on the bottom.
- Put the Crystal Quartz in the water and let it stay for at least a day (if you can).
- Once it has sat for a day, take the Crystal Quartz out of the water and dry them off on a clean towel. Store it (or them) away in a box or dark place until you need it.
This is a really popular cleansing. The water represents the element Water (of course) and salt represents Earth. Stones come from the earth, but they also represent a different element. According to Paganism/Wicca at About.com, the Crystal Quartz is connected to all four elements. So no matter what element you use to cleanse it, it will be cleansed.
