An Amtrak passenger train has derailed in Northfield, Vermont, authorities have confirmed.
Multiple agencies are responding to the incident, said Vermont state police spokesman Scott Waterman.
Amtrak tweeted that it is aware of the derailment and is “assessing the situation.”
There is no information available on injuries or deaths yet. US media reports that two cars went over an embankment.
