Press Release from Mossad Director Tamir Pardo
(Communicated by the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser)
Mossad Director Tamir Pardo, today (Tuesday, 8 December 2015), released the
following statement:
“For the first time in its history, the Mossad had three candidates, who
joined the Mossad as operations personnel and who served it for decades in
various field and command positions. The three candidates served under me as
Mossad deputy directors. They were all worthy of the position, as I told the
Prime Minister. The fact that the appointment was considered among these
three candidates is to the credit of the Mossad. It was my hope that the
decisive importance of a professional appointment would be recognized. The
competition among the three candidates was dignified and fair. I
congratulate Yossi [Cohen] on his appointment. I am certain that he will
know how to lead the Mossad in the face of tomorrow’s challenges with
confidence, creativity and courage.”
