Back in June we told you about the forbidden ute-fruit that is the Audi SQ5 TDI; a sport crossover that gets good gas mileage but also can (theoretically) go for a run in the canyons. After driving an Audi Q7 TDI at Monticello, I have no doubt this car will earn that “S”.
Budding from that idea is a limited production (50) model, to show the serfs you really mean efficient business. Debuting at the Paris Auto Show is a limited edition SQ5, called the SQ5 TDI Audi exclusive concept. Really rolls of the tongue. Exclusive? Yes. The regular SQ5 is priced around $75,000, almost $20k more than that Q7. This limited model? Whose exclusivity will only be known to the poor bastards standing around its owner as he or she explains how this blue paint is different from that “normal” SQ5′s blue paint? $120,000. Is that worth one paint choice that your friends will simply call “blue”, black leather with white stitching and an Alcantara headliner? I don’t think so. How about you?
