Chevrolet has announced that the Chevrolet Impala is headed for the CNG era! The 2015 CNG Impala will offer a bi-fuel capability that allows it to run on either gasoline or compressed natural gas. Currently, no other automaker is selling a manufactured full-size bi-fuel sedan.
Currently, natural gas is less expensive than gasoline and produces about 20 percent less greenhouse-gas emissions than your traditionally powered vehicles.
According to Dan Akerson, GM Chairman and CEO, “We have an aggressive – and progressively ‘greener’ – product plan for the United States. Over their service lives, our 2011 through 2017 model year vehicles alone will reduce our national fuel consumption by about 12 billion gallons. This will offset almost a full year of crude oil imports from the Persian Gulf.”
As time gets closer to the arrival of the 2015 Chevrolet Impala, more detail will be available about the CNG Impala. Until then, if you have not seen the newly redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Impala, please stop by your local Chevrolet Dealership or if you are around the Shreveport and Bossier City area, make sure you stop by you Shreveport and Bossier City Chevrolet Dealer – Red River Chevrolet!
