(Before It's News)

President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter yesterday to congratulate SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on a successful return-to-flight mission. “Congratulations on the launch of your big rocket. It looks thicker than last time”, seemingly referring to the company’s Falcon 9 rocket, tweets the President-elect.

It’s difficult to tell whether Trump’s congratulatory tweet to Musk is genuine or loaded with sarcasm, but based on recent meetings between the two billionaire entrepreneurs, it would appear that their relationship continues to strengthen despite their ideological differences.

In recent weeks, Musk has been seen entering Trump Tower in New York City on several occasions for talks with the President-elect, over U.S. jobs creation, and with Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon. The serial tech entrepreneur who heads up Tesla, SolarCity and SpaceX was appointed to the President’s Strategic and Policy Forum, a new committee intended to advise the President on economic policy.

Musk’s views on climate change side in favor of carbon taxes to be imposed on polluting businesses. He’s also strongly against the Keystone XL Pipeline initiative, something Trump’s party is in favor of.
