Well, Carter Camp has passed on, and as I said to another, no tears or celebration here.
Peltier, or perhaps his ghost writers has done his/their best to seize the moment and lavish accolades- as though they were the best of friends, kind of like he did when Russell Means passed away.
I expect Crow Dog will deliver another glowing eulogy focusing on his version of “forgiveness” in the next life much as he didwith Russell Means, while never mentioning personal responsibility and seeking forgiveness in this one.
Camp fell into “official” AIM disfavor following his altercation and subsequent shooting of Clyde Bellecourt -stripped of position and standing in AIM later to be reinstated under what I assume to be the premise better to have him in the fold than running around as a loose cannon.
In doing so he could be kept updated on the latest for public consumption explanations and excuses in the hopes he could keep his story straight about WK2 and the murder of Perry Ray Robinson Jr, something he had great difficulty in doing over the years
And so the attrition of time and passing away affects a case closed in the removal of Camp from “ongoing investigations”, another ShAIMster escaping accountability in this life- a strategy that’s working.
Carter Camp was a man who could have made a real difference-a man who could have assisted in seeking closure for Annie’s family, for Ray Robinson’s family and the survivors of the WK2 victims who lay in unmarked graves…yet he didn’t, and that’s what I’ll remember about him.
His family will mourn, and fitting that they do-for them he was a father, grandfather, husband, and loved one.
