UN: Ukraine Death Toll Doubled in Past Week
A “very conservative estimate” indicates that as of Aug. 10, 2,086 have died, compared to 1,129 on July 26, spokesperson Cecile Pouilly told media.

 

World peace? These are the only 11 countries in the world that are actually free from conflict. The IEP’s findings mean that choices are slim if you want to live in a completely peaceful country. The only ones to achieve the lowest score for all forms of conflict were Switzerland, Japan, Qatar, Mauritius, Uruguay, Chile, Botswana, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Panama and Brazil.

 

Briefing the President but Keeping the Public in the Dark. Washington prepared some grim early estimates of the death and destruction that would come from a nuclear war with Russia, but kept the details secret for more than 50 years.
