Michigan Sells Treaty-Protected, Public Land For Limestone Mine. A group of American Indians in Michigan have lost their bid to block a land transfer of nearly 9,000 acres to a company proposing a limestone mine—the “largest single public land deal in Michigan history.”

 

Relevance Of Civil Disobedience In Solidarity With Cuba. The blockade is still in place. Travel restrictions still exist. Guantánamo Bay is still occupied by the US military and used for imprisonment and torture. And the US still works to undermine the Cuban government.

 

Brazil Analysis: Upper Middle Class Demonstrations Against President Dilma Rousseff. Prof. Alfredo Saad-Filho of University of London says the demonstrators along with several right wing parties are demanding the return of their privileges.
